Fred Kross, a trade mark of Gelissen & Co, aims at combining luxury and art through a distinctive mission. Positioned as a Belgian enterprise with its headquarters nestled in the heart of Wavre, Fred Kross is a vanguard of creativity and innovation.
The overall idea of the exciting mission of Fred Kross was born in 2021 in the mind of Frederic Gelissen (CEO) who was to create the Gelissen & Co company owning the brand. His love of innovative designs as well as the usage of various materials stimulating all the senses lead naturally to the concept of Fred Kross as it is defined today.
In 2023, Fred's father confessed him that his name « Gelissen » was not the name he should have received from his ancestors.
Many decades ago, just before the first World War, his grand-grand father who actually had German origins moved to Belgium with his wife. During this period, Belgians and Germans were not the good friends they are now, and the sounds of war were already resonating… Consequently, he decided to give his children the name of his beloved Scandinavian wife: Gelissen.
His grand-grand father's German name was Kreuzman. If you translate it in English it means CROSSMAN. Keeping the original “K”, Krossman sounded nice for a brand but slightly too much like a superhero's nickname like Batman, Ironman, Aquaman… Getting rid of the « man » was wise and natural hence « Fred Kross » which sounds pretty elegant for our artistical concept.
Now Fred Kross Gelissen is proud to present the world his creations.
